Hi fellow MR2 enthusiasts, I go by the name of Tire Burns on Facebook. (link below)

I found my MR2 in a junk yard back in 2013, did it up and got it roadworthy and I have daily driven it for around 7 years.

Games always inspired me and in particular the game "Colin Mc Rae Dirt 2" which was the reason I wanted an mr2 plus I also loved the RS200 with Monster Energy livery.

I had a Celica T18 GT with 2.0 ltr @ 156hp at that time as a Daily driver.

I loved the sound of the 3sge but I hadn`t thought about buying one up to that point.

I looked on the internet and saw that I couldn`t afford one BUT many months later I saw a right hand drive hardtop MR2 with 175hp in a junk yard that I could afford !

I had always wanted a right hand drive hardtop MR2 in my dream Monster Energy rally look.

The car had didn`t have great paint and the engine broke on the way back home so I replaced it later because thankfully the seller had multiple MR2s and gave me a good one.

I did a turbo swap in 2018 to the 3SGTE.

The car had so many issues and broken parts so I spent month after month and year after year getting it as good as it is now.

After building my dream version of the game car I wanted to make a other dream come true, a Drift car.

Many people I`d told I wanted to drift with the mr2 laughed at me and said things like "that thing will never be a drift car, it will just kill you with snap oversteer" … CHALLENGE ACCEPTED !

After a few events and having driven the mr2 to and from the drift track, many people who had been very negative were very impressed and were shaking my hand. lol

Some time later It became a trailer queen to get to drift competition and show events.

People coming to watch me drifting the mr2 is something that makes me more happy than the money.

I had to do many modifications in order to drift it well.

My modifications include custom bashbars on the front and rear.

Hardrace parts on the rear axles.

3sgte engine since 2019.

I have a water cooled intercooler.

I use a dual calliper and standalone flyoff system made by Team Midship Drifter.

The steering is a totally custom angle kit with a longer steering rack and suspension arms and Nissan S13 suspension using custom mounts all which I did in my garage.

There is a MATTER roll cage.

Carbon airbox.

3 inch custom exhaust with Japspeed downpipe.

16 inch Enkei wheels on the front and 17 inch wheels on the rear.

I used Custom l.e.d lights on the front as well as the rear.
